Akin is a Toronto-based arts organization that provides creative studio space as well as arts-based programming. Our studios provide a working environment that maintains a friendly and inspiring atmosphere where people can work on creative endeavors and entrepreneurial undertakings of all kinds. We build community through a variety of programming including workshops, open studio events, gallery tours, exhibitions, as well as various other art projects.
Akin Niagara is located at 289 Niagara Street just south of Queen Street West. The studio is on the lower level of an apartment building in close proximity to Trinity Bellwoods Park. Akin Niagara consists of dedicated and shared memberships in rooms with large windows which get ambient daylight and a view of outdoor space exclusively for Akin Niagara members’ use. The studio has a patio with outdoor tables and chairs in the north patio, and bench seating in the west.
Akin Niagara is host to shared memberships for $78/month, which include access to shared working areas, shared storage, kitchenette, a communal gathering area and bathrooms. There are 27 Dedicated Memberships (i.e your own studio), including private and semi-private options ranging from 40 square feet at $252 per month to 117 square feet for $551 per month. The studio is on the lower level of a building, its entrance is down a flight of twelve steps from the sidewalk. Akin Niagara has three bathrooms, all of which are single stall and gender neutral, some of which have grab bars.
